About the Auhor

Kailash

Born and raised in the beautiful rainbow nation of South Africa. I’m married to my wonderful and very supportive husband for 34 years and we have a 29 year old son.

We moved across the Atlantic ocean in 2002 and now call Illinois home.

My crafting journey began soon after arriving in the US, when I learned scrapbooking. I had lots of fun making albums of ‘life events’ and while it was a lovely form of cherishing memories, I knew I wanted to learn the art of stamping which was such a new and exciting concept for me. I attended stamping classes at Archivers (oh how I wish they were still in business) to gain knowledge and ideas. After purchasing my first stamp which was the cutest, little owl stamp from Hero Arts I joined the Hero Arts flickr group. I was totally immersed with learning new techniques, participating in card swap/exchanges, blog challenges and Hero Arts scrambles, which got my creative juices flowing. What an exciting ride it has been this far!

I strive to express my art by creating varied card/project designs including clean and simple, bold and bright, mixed media and cute and fun which is both enjoyable and therapeutic. I formed the most amazing friendships, and am inspired daily by the talented designers within our crafting community for which I am forever grateful.

My other interests include gardening, the art of decoupage, watching true life documentaries, reading non fiction and my favorite, which is to follow formula one motor racing.

I would like to thank Kanan for this wonderful opportunity and wish her much success in her crafting journey.
